Is there a geological

explanation; where did the iron oxide originate
from? When you take a good look at WA snowfields and glaciers, do you notice the
areas of "red" in the snow-pack???

Rust never sleeps! Awesome picture, Trina ...

Re: Is there a geological

I haven't spoken with rangers about the red creek bed but it became red after the fall floods in 2007. There was a lot of damage in the Rainier National Park as well as Olympic National Park. Roads, bridges, trails gone.
I haven't noticed red snow packs, perhaps someone out in cyberspace has noticed it around Mt Rainier???
Thanks for the compliment!
Cheers, Trina

Re: Is there a geological

Well, I have a legitimate "excuse" to visit
MRNP. Red happens to be my favorite color.
