My wife and Irecognize this Bighorn sheep. They are
very territorial, right? I remember
playing "King of the Hill," when growing
up in northern Utah. It's lonely at the
top!!!

Re: My wife and II don't think they fight over their territories. They mostly compete over the females. After the mating is done, they all seem to get along and live in small bachelor herds. This ram was accompanied by 4 other rams. Ocassionally, they have large gatherings where rams, ewes and youngsters are all present. They all care and warn each other of danger. I've witnessed such gatherings in Red Rocks many times, but never in Lake Mead Area yet.

Re: My wife and I~ are smiling! ~
It sounds like when the ELKS or MOOSE
get together ... at the lodge! So, they
actually have a "sheep' convention???
Are they celebrating the Chinese New Year?
Do they have little hats and name-tags on?
Just kidding! Awesome photos, Anya!!!
