Kozí štít

Kozí štít

Kozí štít / Kozia Turnia, Zerge-csúcs, Gemsenspitze / - 2111 m Kozí štít (translation: Chamois peak) is the highest culmination of the Chamois ridge (Kozí hrebeň). First recorded ascent: J. Chmielowski, with guides K. Bachleda and J. Bachleda - 15/Sept/1904. Probably chamois hunters already visited the peak earlier. Image taken from Predná kozia štrbina (~2068 m) col. (High Tatras, 22. Oct. 2009.)

Re: the best

Thanks, Tomek! Indeed it looked much different from here, than it does from the valley down below. Our original goal was Jahnaci, but the snow situation made us change the plan.

Re: the best

did you try to climb Kozi ? I climbed the one in summer 2007, quite interesting though short route. In good conditions one can try its "vis a vis" neighbour of Jastrabia Veza at the same time.

Cheers,

Tomek

Re: the best

No, we didn't have any other gear than ice axes, plus time was up, and last but not least, that ridge looked scary as well :)

I'd be glad to stroll up some easy off-trail routes in the Tatras, but as long as I'm not a mountaneering club member, it would be rather risky because of the rangers.
