Another

Good list! How about Grass, by Merian C. Cooper, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0015873/ Filmed in 1925, it follows the annual migration of a large tribe of Iranian nomads (the Bakhtiari) across the Karun River and over Zard Kuh in the Zagros Mountains. There's also an updated 1976 documentary (which I haven't seen) about the Bakhtiari migration called People of the Wind: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075052/

Suggestion

I can suggest a film to add to your list: "Cerro Torre - Scream of stone" (Original german title "Schrei aus Stein") Category: drama Runtime: 105 min. The movie was directed by Werner Herzog in the year 1991. The story was written by Reinhold Messner! Should be a movie with terrific scenes on Cerro Torre in Patagonia. I discovered it by reading a book from the famous german climber Stefan Glowacz. He even plays a major role in the film. And you can see Hans Kammerlander as a supporting act! There are as well some famous actors in the film, like Donald Sutherland. I ordered the film a few days ago on DVD - I will give you some feedback, when I saw the film... Regards, Herbert

Hmmm

I saw a film called "The Descent" last night. It's basically a horror movie, but there are some climbing and a lot of caving. Almost the whole film is under ground in caves. I'm not sure if this one will fit on the "Mountains in films" page. Maybe. You decide. The Descent

Re: Hmmm

Good idea. Y ou better watch it first. It's not really a mountain film, but some climbing in it for sure and cave climbers may think it's a pretty cool film, at least until it becomes too much of a horror movie.

Masters of Stone?

Is that good title for that list?Well known, five episodes. There was a polish film called Wariant R, about the climb of the hardest route on Mnich(The Monk) in Tatras. The director was Sergiusz Sprudin. There was also a film about first ascent of Nanga Parbat: I don't remember well but it was called Alpinist or just Nanga Parbat...check this out, IMO a very good movie. Another film that I've watched recently was Gran Paradiso- pretty dumb, but about the mountains... K2 was shot on Mount Waddington. Besides few scenes Vertical Limit was shot in Aoraki/Cook area. Anyway: good idea. Regards jck
