Little Mac

Little Mac

After leaving the ridge because of the cornices and high winds we started across this steep gully and we were caught up an avalanche we triggered. It was about 3 feet deep and 100 yds across. Luckily we were walking across where the snow split and although it swept out our feet we were able to self arrest and the slab above us didn't slide; leaving us hanging in self arrest while the mountain side slid away 1500 feet below us. In the picture can see our tracks coming from the left. I change the contrast so the fracture would be more visible.
