Re: Great photo!Actually, it's a morning light. But it works the same way. In the eastern Sierras the opposing mountains are much lower therefore the light has to travel through more of the atmosphere to hit the east facing mountains. You end up with much richer colors.

Nice shotAgain! Only slight negative comment it looks like artefacts are creaping in to the ridge lines - too much sharpening? Just a question.

Re: Nice shotI don't see any artifacts. Perhaps your browser is resizing--i noticed what you refer to when i didn't view at full size (i.e. when i let my browser resize to fit the screen).
