ever visited?anyone been down there? i met a ranger who is trying to swim in all the named lakes in the park, but i never had the chance to ask him if he'd made it here. looks beautiful.

Re: ever visited?I just posted a topo of a route that I am thinking of trying to get down to the lakes. I think it would even be possible to camp there (Both attaining a permit and route ease).

looks entirely possiblei looked at a photo i took of Lonely Lakes from Mad Wolf, and it looks like there certainly is a way down through the cliffs south of the lakes. a friend and i are hoping to hike up the Dry Fork Trail for a bit, scramble up and over Spot Mountain, and spend the night at the lakes sometime this summer. considering the ridgewalk to Eagle Plume and Bad Marriage from there. thanks again for the route information!

Re: looks entirely possibleI hiked the Spot mtn to Red mtn. ridge last summer. Access to Lonely Lakes is possible from there though I don't know anyone who has done it. The name Lonely is very appropriate for these lakes.
