At the junction of the Long Trail & Branch Pond Trail is this neat trail marker. A remnant of railroad activity I presume?

I'm guessing

some mining activity. Frankly, I've
never been to Vermont, but I've
heard about those pesky 'green head'
flies in that area. Hey, I have to
deal with rattlers & cacti here.

Yes, I think there was also mining actinity reported to be in the area, I'm sure you are correct. We did have some bugs YUK!

I remember this from my trek up the Long Trail. In fact, I think I have a picture of it as well. It is a neat trail marker.
