Looking back to the rim...

From Sage Creek Rim (partially visible-- look for the flat green area) I descended via the gully system seen right of center. In places, there were Class 4 moves, including stemming and straddling where the gully became narrower than many slot canyons, and too narrow even for a lean guy like me.

Expect such conditions almost anywhere you try to descend the rim until you get to the gentle ridges by the fence a bit northwest of the Hay Butte/Grassy Tables Overlook.
