Looking north into Glacier...

Looking north into Glacier National Park, what a great pair of bookends to this photo! Mount Stimson (10142') on the left, Mount St. Nicholas (9376') on the right. Photo taken from the ridge approximately half way or a bit more up Great Northern Mountain, which is in the Great Bear Wilderness, immediately south of GNP. This is the first—and sudden—view you get of GNP. Rugged country, indeed! (Sorry for the image quality - haze and light couldn't have been much worse.) Photo by Vernon, September 4, 2005.
