Lower gully approaching the step

Nearing the small step in the gully. We (well, Martin leading the way and me following glibly) crossed the stream and took to the avalanche swathe seen above here. It was lame. Later on the return we (my improvement) stayed to downclimber's left of the gully and it was much better. The elevation here is about 3000 ft. May 16, 2009.
