Luamakami fr the ESE

Luamakami fr the ESE

One of my favorite kind of sights in a volcanic landscape is a breach. They convey movement to me more so than an ordinary static crater. Here a breach from the main crater of Luamakami when it issued forth a flow of pahoehoe lava. But is this really a breach? Some of the lava appears to have flowed out from the ground, no doubt through a short lava tube. March 3, 2007.
