McCaleb Ranch

Looking down at McCaleb Ranch (right), where a man (i.e. resident or worker or occupier) instructed me to move up to an upper parking area from where this photo was taken. From here, the next morning I planned to hike down to the footbridge on the left side of this photo, and then up to Pearsoll Peak. However, my initial plan was thwarted when the ranchman sent two of his buddies up to my parking area, either to scare me off (which worked!) or do some damage. But everything happens for a reason, and I ultimately found a better route elsewhere... via the Kalmiopsis Rim Trail. That trail system crossed much of the wilderness area, and was a great way to experience the region. Photo taken on June 30, 2012.
