Mescalito, class 3-4-5 route

This map shows the traditional 3rd class route up Mescalito, via the south fork of Pine Creek, plus a "non-technical" descent with a few class 4-5 pitches. The latter route was pioneered by Branch Whitney. The dark cyan route is the traditional 3rd class route to the saddle; the black route is the 3rd-class path from the saddle to the top. The bright magenta route is a steep descent with a 5th class pitch.
