Now ... please don't go getting your blood pressure rising on P&P. I know ... freedom of speech! My great grandmother was born in Czechoslovakia; she immigrated over. I'm VERY GLAD she did! I love your wonderful pictures!!! Cheers to Mount Blanc!!! How many glaciers does it have ??? ???

No, I shall try not to (actually my resting BP is in the low normal range). Glad to hear that we agree on freedom of speech, though. Thanks for the comments on my photos. As for Mont Blanc, it is not a very solitary mountain, but part of a large group. If you count only the glaciers arising from the very summit there are 8 or 9, depending on your definition of independent glaciers, but in the whole group I would guess over 50, including the very large Mer de Glace, which is a Himalayan type glacier.

Mer de Glace! What an interesting and romantic name! Here in North America, we have a province of
far-eastern Canada that has many French "place names;" the province is Nova Scotia and the place is called Glace Bay. No mountains there, but lots of water. I'm wondering if the Vikings discovered Glace Bay, coming long before the French and British. Interesting history! CHEERIO! I love
your GREAT photos. BRAVO!!! C'est magnifique!

Fascinating history about you both, and amazing pictures. You both are a real inspiration to me. I don't have money as an european or american person. but I have passion of mountains. Know about people like you make me work so hard to come true my dreaming of climbing. I hope to do Mont Blanc in the next november or december. A big hug.

Thank you very much for the kind comment, we are glad to hear we have this effect on you. We wish you luck on Mt. Blanc in November or December, it can be very cold at that time of the year.
