Monte Canin northwest ridge | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
From the summit of Picco di Carnizza.
From here the route descends on the left edge of the ramps, then traverses through narrow and airy paths to a steep scree slope (barely visible, begins from the right, heading towards left and upwards diagonally). Before finally hitting the ridge, there is a very enjoyable slab climb assured by cables on a steep ramp. Last hundred meters lead on a narrow and exposed ridge, on one place the rock is loose, care is needed. Before the summit, the terrain becomes easier, so you can undisturbedly enjoy arriving to the highest point of Canin group.

Voted 10/10 | Hi Norbert!
You posted trip reports, but the NW ridge ascent route page is still missing on Kanin's page. And you're not doing much of page editing either ;)
Cheers!

Hasn't voted | Hello Vid!
No, I haven't posted the trip report yet, the pictures are just the beginning.
The trip report, the route pages are in progress, and when they are ready, I will see what could be done with the main Kanin page.
This weekend I'm going to guide a tour to Grossvenediger... and there are programs for all weekends in April and first half of May, so I have very little time nowadays... | | Posted Apr 2, 2009 5:22 am |

Voted 10/10 | I'm happy to hear that Norbert! Really. Grossvenediger should be great these times. We have so much snow here, that nobody thinks about going over 3000 meters. But if the weather forecast is fine here, why not going in Hohe Tauern! We shall probably go somewhere on the Adriatic coast. Or... who knows...
No hurry, though. But you must do that route description.
Cheers!
