What for us europeans the ibex......must be the bighorn for the americans! They are such proud and beautiful animals! A lovely photo!

Re: What for us europeans the ibex...Yes.... I would also love to see your ibex.... This is a Desert Bighorn, which is smaller than the Rocky Mountain Bighorn,which is often found at higher elevations in the mountains here.

I have seen a group of 5 rams in this same area a couple times the last two weeks. They are such strong animals. I was taking pictures of some on a cliff above me last week, when one seemed a bit annoyed that I was there. He showed me who was boss by butting a dead tree to show off his strength. I wasn't too close so I wasn't worried, but they are an animal that should be respected.

Re: greatI have much similar experiences with them from Sierra de Gredos in Spain, we don't have them in Tatras, only chamoises here. Wonderful animal.
