Morning on Lake Helen

This morning on Lake Helen yielded almost perfectly calm waters, something that was hard to come by the night before. It was cold, definately below freezing, but the lake, probably due to its size, did not even wear a thin sheet of ice. Cloud Peak rises just about 3,300 feet higher than this lake and is visible in the middle skyline. Sep 13, 2008.

Three times...

Once on a road trip, once with my son hiking to Mirror Lake and one quick trip to Lake Helen, solo. A fantastic and little know place.
