My buddy and I started from Crystal lake and scrambled up the creek drainage, cutting left in the upper reaches. From here it's about 50% slope across alpine tundra to the ridge. Followed the ridge north to the summit. Met 2 others there who had taken a more northern route partway up but had to traverse south to make it to the ridge. They took our way down and said it was easier. Great views and a fun trip.
went up straight from Ironton, bushwacking, some game trails, descended from Brown Mountain towards Ironton, again lost trail and tons of bushwacking and game trail crossings. Nobody on the mountain, only me and Duchess.
