AssiniboineIf it is compared to any mountain, it is compared to the shape of Matterhorn. If this photo was without the caption, I'd say that it was a shot of Matterhorn's north face. On the other hand, from this angle it looks more like Eiger from Schwarzhorn (Grindelwald). Anyhow, Assiniboine is really a unique pyramid and does not need to be compared to anything, it's just Assiniboine. I have no doubt that it is admired by Americans just like Europeans admire Matterhorn or Eiger. Cheers, Tomas :)

Re: AssiniboineUnfortunately, or fortunately, depending on ones perspective, most American climbers would have no clue where Assiniboine is Thomas. Most Canadians do of course. It is most notable for the ease of its ascent and of course how aesthetic it is. This whole area of Kananaskis and Banff National Park is quite spectacular. Several grizzly and many moose encounters in this area. Cheers.
