A less than perfect route (late season conditions required lots of traverses around crevasses) up the Easton Glacier on a perfect day, with awe-inspiring views!

My first really real mountain. Unbelievably difficult for me, and a totally new experience: never camped before (even for one night).

Didn't summit; snow bridge collapsed),

Camped at 7200' near Heliotrope Ridge. Climbed up the Coleman Glacier to the Roman Wall and summited with Peter & Reza. Cold on top!
Two aborted attempts on Shuksan on this trip.

Reached the summit with a group of 3 as part of AAI's week long Alpinism I class. Great summit, climb, and class.

My first major climb. Couldn't summit due to high winds on top. Still an awesome experience.

final headwall a bit taxing, but awesome weather and no alpine start. which is the best way to climb, dammit!

Very meaningful trip to the summit with my brother Bill. Extremely colorful, aesthetic mountain. The Roman Wall crux was a piece of cake. Navigating the crevasses in the dark on the Coleman was not!

CalEaston-Demming-Coleman-Squock-Easton Route  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 14, 2012

In the dark we couldn't find which best way to go around some massive gaps in the Easton glacier, so we ended up heading across the Demming and up the rock band at the edge of the Coleman. On the descent, we headed down the Squock and back across the Easton to high camp. Frequent and huge crevasses made navigation quite enjoyably interesting, better than I expected. This loop tour took 10 hours to complete.

Reached the top with two partners after a four hour climb from Sandy Camp. I thought the views were great and the crater was really neat too.
