| Cramponed up the northwest slopes, then skied down to Dana Couloir. Great descent down the couloir, then over to the Plateau for an even better descent of Ellery Bowl. Hitchhiked back to the pass. | |

| In September, 1978. From Tioga Lake up Glacier Canyon and then Dana Plateau via craggy highpoint and then a traverse of Dana summit back to car. Climbed again on 7/23/88 from Mono TH. | |

| My fist 13k peak! Easier than I thought it would be (except for the altitude headache). Still plenty of snow and crampons were a requirement until late morning. I drove from Sacramento, climbed it, and drove all the way back in a single day and vowed never to do that again ;) | |

| Sketchy weather the night before and morning of. We got off the summit before thunder set in. A warm night with soft snow up the couloir, so we short-roped it without belays. Great introduction to steeper snow climbing and standard, awesome panoramic views from the top. Icy conditions would have made the couloir climb harder/slower. | |

| High winds and a big weather front was moving in. Post-holed most of the way up, about 18 inches of snow. Very rewarding. though!! Had plans to traverse to Gibbs and camp but with the storm blowing in, I got down and then outa' town. I here the views are great but with so much cloud cover, didn't get the full affect. But because of the weather, it was interesting up there. | |

| Arrived in Toulumne late Friday night from Chicago. Hiked up Mount Dana Saturday afternoon from the park entrance at Tioga pass on day 1 of a 7 day trip. The wildflowers along the trail were unbelieveable! Perhaps the best I've seen. | |

| Descended southeasterly to the saddle between Mount Gibbs, but ran short on time so we abandoned 2nd peak bag attempt and followed the drainage West and Northwest cross country to Dana Meadows. Long and satisfying day! | |
