Couple of HPS peaks with impressive views of the desert. Very windy summits, hiked as a winter storm was clearing out.

Hiked from the Forest Highway (across Aliso Canyon Road) to Cole Point. From there we hiked over many steep bumps past the shooting range to Mt. Emma and Old Mt. Emma. Great views into the Mojave Desert. Hiked the same way back. Total for the in and out: 12 miles and 6,000 feet of elevation gain.

A little barren, but nice hike, decent elevation gain (4500 ft total for Old Emma, Emma and Cole Point). A bit of a roller coaster hike.

A really pleasant ridgeline to hike. Very sparse plant life. Great views of the Mojave. Did both summits and then did a cross country route back to the car exploring a couple of small canyons along the way.
