"Got tight last night on absinthe and did knife tricks. Great success shooting the knife into the piano. The woodworms are so bad and eat hell out of all furniture that you can always claim the woodworms did it."

From Arc PassAfter climbing Mcadie I came back down Ark Pass and went up the sandy slope to Irvine. Once at the top of the chute I didn’t know that the summit was all the way to the East, so I half-climbed each false summit until I got to the real one.

On the way to Mallory...almostWhile exploring a route from Meysan Lake to Mt Mallory, my friend and I summited Mt Irvine, but turned around just 0.2 miles from Mallory due to exposure and winds gusting to at least 40 mph. The last signature on the register was from October of last year.

East CouloirWhat deb said, but I traversed over to Mallory and then descended the crappy East Chute.

East CouloirWhat a shit pile! Constant loose rock and scree most of the way. Escaped somewhat by exiting early along south wall - Class 4. This peak wins the Total Crap Award this year so far. blegh! Descended shitty east chute and continued to Candlelight.... and got snowed on.

from Arc PassHiked up from Soldier Lakes, ascended the first chute south of Arc Pass, descended the second chute south of the pass. The second chute was better; this is probably the route Secor describes to "Richins Pass."

A 3ferWe hiked up the Meysan Lakes Trail and camped the 1st night on a saddle above the lake on the ridge up to Irvine. Then we traversed over to Mallory and LeConte before going down a gully and camping below Pickering. The next day we climbed Pickering, Joe Devel and Chamberlin and then down to Crabtree Lakes. The following day we went from Crabtree to the JMT and and climbed up Discovery Pinnacle before going down the Whitney Trail.

Arc PassThe sandy slide down to Meysan was a fitting and desirable end to the day after four others in the area.

East CouloirThe complete absence of snow and the rubble filled couloir looked like a suffer fest from Camp lake. Wasn't as bad as it looked.

East CouloirSpur of the moment decision to do the East Couloir. Very fast moving up, quite soft on the way down. Great views.

Consultation DirectAfter following the SC'11 crew up to Consultation Lake, I split off and went straight up Irvine. The climbing was mainly 4th class with sections up to 5.6.
