| It was a beautiful day and I met some nice hikers near the top. My best friend Caleb had ankle problem and couldn't make it. My watch freezed at 10:30am so I thought it was the longest hour ever. | ||

| Would have been nice to summit but friend got sick and we couldnt wait another day. Coming from the flatlands requires a good day to aclimate... well for me. | ||

| 20 degree night at trailhead, left at 5am warmed up as the sun came out. Made the summit before the clouds rolled over the top. Great trip up Army Pass no snow left. | ||

| Second 14er. The pass was still covered in snow at the top, so we scrambled up before then, camped in the pass, and bagged the peak the next day. A storm was coming in so we hurried down New Army Pass. | ||

| Dayhiked on a day that couldn't make up its mind what it wanted to do. Stars were out at 4:30 am when I woke up to heed nature's call. High cloudy overcat by daybreak. Finally it settled on cold and windy, with threatening clouds blowing in from the southwest. I thought it would rain, but all it did was drop a heavy mist (snow flakes up higher). All in all a great day! But boy, by the time I got back to the car I was sick of walking. | ||

| You consume a lot of energy hauling a 35-lb pack to a campsite. There is much to be said for a decent night's sleep in a Lone Pine motel, followed by an early drive to the trailhead and a fresh start! | ||

| This was my second time on Langley. Our first trip in October 2004 was unsuccessful due to a nasty storm. This was the third fourteener for myself, second for my wife, and first for our friends Eric and Jen. Old Army Pass route - quite the slog, eh? I am always impressed to read about these guys doing these long routes as day hikes - we ran into a few along the way. Something to aspire to, I guess. | ||

| Nice hike. 8:45 car to car. Took it slow going up as I was a bit tired from Russell the day before. | ||

| Great hike with outdoorsclub.org, we summited via the old army pass, took the New Army pass down and detoured via the South Fork Lakes and followed the south fork creek back to the trail. Beautiful weather! Great Hike! My 4th 14'er. | ||

| Day hiked from Cottonwood Lakes trailhead. Finally made it after being stymied on prior atempts by snowed-over passes and altitude probs. Great views. | ||

| Went up via New Army Pass. Came down via Old Army Pass which was trecherous with snow along the trail. Otherwise, very uneventful. | ||

| MoapaPk | OA Pass then E Ridge Date Climbed: Sep 3, 2006 | |
| Day-hiked twice from Horseshoe parking lot; GPS showed 20.3 miles RT, > 5000' elevation gain (there are a lot of subtle ups and downs on way). Four members of party came up >7000' via NE face from Tuttle Creek; two went out over Cirque Peak and down N A Pass. Absolutely gorgeous weather (well, a bit windy). Once I went up by the east ridge, which is nominally 3rd class; and once by traditional southern route, class 2 at most. | ||

| Day-hiked up Old Army Pass the day before but got stuck on the rocks below the summit too late in the afternoon, so went back down and camped beside the parking lot. Went up New Army Pass the next morning and slogged up the steep sand and rocks to the moonscape up top. Somewhere along the way, I lost my favorite black tank top--but the view from the summit was worth it. | ||

| Nice hike through the meadows and by the lakes. Went up NAP, down OAP, I personally think NAP is better, but they're close. Managed to find a little class 3 scrambling by climbing straight up the summit block. | ||

| Got to trailhead at 9:30am, jammed up to last lake, dropped our gear, started up about 1pm and back at camp around 7pm. Then decided to hike out. So we inadvertantly day hiked Langley. | ||
