injektiloHell Brook  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 14, 2007

The Hell Brook Trail is aptly named. A lot of scrambles on wet slabs and an unrelenting grade until you reach the ridge… and what a ridge! Mansfield is a beautiful mountain. I hope to get back to Vermont more often.

Date Climbed: Jun 30, 2007

Asended from Underhill State Park via the Laura Cowles trail and returned via Sunset Ridge. This is a great loop hike and descending Sunset Ridge allowed us to better enjoy the views out toward Lake Champlain an the Adirondacks

I think we hit the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory and Ben and Jerry's on the way back to the hotel. It guess it's a very well located mountain.

Two unmitigated peak baggers would not be deterred by a little rain storm and hiked up to the summit anyway. I loved the whole area, Smugglers Notch very interesting in a "Headless Horseman" kinda way.

jhalmanToo many routes to list  Sucess!

Although the summit can often be very crowded (with people and radio towers), the multitude of trails up the peak make it a blast to hike. Try the Halfway house to canyon trails for an exciting route to the top. Be ready to shed your pack though, and push it through the caverns you have to crawl through! Enjoy!

TiogaBradfordlong trail  Sucess!

Climbed this mountain twice in the summer of 2004, both times using the Long Trail. I had great weather for both trips, and had fantastic views from the top. You could easily see the Adirondacks and the White Mountains, as well as the Champlain valley.

Date Climbed: Aug 8, 2006

Climbed up the Long Trail and the Chin. Was stuck in clouds at the top. Traversed over to the auto road parking lot where my wife was picking me up. Wouldn't you know the clouds cleared as soon as I got over there. Thought about going back, but nah... #24 on my state highpoint list
