| Lots of snow, but very accessible from Geyser Pass Road. Weather was poor, but got a good window for the summit. Fairly steep ascent with a fun, narrow ridge to follow. Near whiteout conditions on way down. Excellent late winter climb. 3.5 hr ascent, 2 hr. descent. | ||

| Climbed from Geyser Pass straight south up a residual snow spur on the north side of Mell. Snow was soft enough to not require crampsons or ice axe. Reached the summit in just over an hour. | |

| Nice end to a nice round trip peakbagging extravaganza in the La Sals. I'd been meaning to make a page for the peak since June, but I dragged my heels about getting it done. Now I'm banging my head from the missed opportunity! and by 2 days! AAARRGG!!!! | |

| Camped at the end of the jeep trail. Hit the trail around 7:30 am, nice calm day. Decided on hitting all of the 12,000 on the ridge over to Mellenthin, not like the other guy with me. He did all three peaks (Peale, Tuk and Mellethin). I made it back to camp by 11:00 am and he was only an hour behind. | |
