Mount Rogers via Massie Gap / Wilburn Ridge

Page Type Page Type: Album
Additional Information Image Type(s): Hiking
1-20-08. Visibility 100 + miles. The temperature was holding about 5 F. all day with 40 mph winds in the most exposed areas (it was nice to get in the trees or behind ridges and out of the wind from time to time!).
It was completely clear by 10:00 am.

Nice views of Grandfather mountain ridge, Table Rock, Roan Mountians, and even the sliver of the Black Mountains ridge line on the horizon!

Here's a panorama video...

good pics

I live about 30 mins from there and go there often. Love it in the winter. Good training for out west. Looks like fun. Was planning on going up then, but others things came up.

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
