Mount Shasta and Diller Canyon

Diller Canyon was formed by hot pyroclastic flows during Shastina's eruption history 9700 to 9400 years ago. It is unique in being the largest such canyon in the Cascade Range (measured from top to bottom) and drops nearly 7000 feet over 4.5 miles.
