Mount Shasta

An epic and seldom seen view of Mount Shasta from the unnamed drainage between Squaw Creek and Mud Creek. The ridge running through the middle of the image is called Red Fir Ridge at lower elevation. I am not sure if the name still applies higher up. Shastarama Point, Thumb Rock, the Konwokiton Glacier and the top of Mount Shasta all line the horizon. The great chasm of Mud Creek is visible just above Red Fir Ridge, below the glacier. Oct2012.
