Re: June 26thYeah, I think this was on July 5th. On the hike in, I punched through soft snow and fell up to my armpits into a moat...wearing a 50lb pack! Got tightly wedged between the rock and snow, and needed some help out.

The late snow season made for some difficult travel. I actually went up over the col to the north of "Troop 1 Peak" then into the Echo Lake area. I climbed the S.E. slope of Wallace which is usually a scree covered shute, but this year it made for a good snow climb. I too punched threw the snow up to my waist or deeper. Some pics on my page!
