Mt Tuscarora was a nice hike to start out with. The steep start to the trail added to the overall fun. The view at the top is limited, due to extensive tree cover, and the fire tower atop is currently closed, with stairs and sections missing.

Have done this many times since I was a child. I recommend starting from the side by the lake, since it's a steep but short ascent. After that you have a long coast down to the other trailhead.
