| In Boston on business, had half a day before my plane flight. Made short, fun hike up snowy and icy slopes, but recent dryness had left large sections of bare dirt. No friction issues in my hiking boots. Temp at 15 degrees F. Beautiful, calm and clear day. The next day, Boston would get slammed with two feet of snow, but by then I was safe at home in Arizona :) | |

| I have hiked to the top many, many times! And skied for years there. Even biked to the top once. Grew up just a mile away. The last few hikes we wanted more of a challenge so start further away, such as Leominster State Forest and take the Midstate over to the lodge and then hike up from there, back down to our parked car on Mountain Road. Today we noticed the old tower has been removed, and new tower has a raised base for viewing or relaxing on the benches. Still no water or restrooms at the top. | |
