Mount Washington South Route

This satellite image shows the complete standard south route leading to the summit of Mount Washington from FR-2419 (a.k.a. Big Creek Road). The route ranges from YDS Class II to YDS Class III, encountering many levels of scrambling along the trek. However, this is the easiest route leading to the summit. Deviations from this standard route will likely lead to YDS Class IV and/or YDS Class V areas and significantly increase the risk factor. The track log shown here was compiled by fellow SPer "Gimpilator" on July 2, 2009, during own first (and successful) Mount Washington summit attempt.
