Approach

Hike to Morgan Pass from either Mosquito Flat at the end of Rock Creek Road, or from the tungsten mine at the end of Pine Creek Road. See the main page for more detailed information. Leave the trail at the pass, heading south up and over some easy, mostly flat, granite benches to the start of the North Ridge.

Route Description

There are numerous options that can be taken along the north ridge, several shown in the accompanying photograph. Most of the route is class 3, with short class 4 sections. Stay on the crest of the ridge for more demanding (and more enjoyable) scrambling, or move to the east side of the ridge for easier going. From the north summit, follow the crest to the higher south summit.

There is some loose rock, some in the form of very large boulders perched along the ridge and on either side. Be careful to test holds and watch out for anyone climbing below you.

Essential Gear

None needed.

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
