"La Dame Blanche"On the approach to this famous mountain, is
the "standard route" mainly in Italy??

From where?It looks as though you took this picture from the Brevent on the opposite side of Chamonix. I got one like this in the winter of 1956 showing skiers in the foreground about to schuss downhill toward Chamonix.

Re: From where?This was actually taken from a little meadow that is called le Savoy, maybe 5 minute walk from the Brevent lift...you were very close! I absolutely love your old pics, especially the Mt Blanc with a cow in the foreground..you'd be hardpressed to find that today! Despite everywhere I have been lucky enough to travel to, Chamonix is still my favorite place by far.
