Re: HQ photo

Thanks for the compliment. Yes- I love seeing the activity on all these Cascade peaks... in their current state.

What a change

Sure is beautiful now, interesting since it's looked more like a graveyard for the better part of the last 30 years. A testament to the tenacity of life. Great shot.

Re: What a change

True- there's still snags everywhere, and logs floating in the lake, but the plants all around too. Thanks for the comment.

A most astounding sight !

It just causes me to seek likeminded scenery closer to home since I really don't have the means to travel... But anyways the place looks astounding ! I'll get my revenge once I find relevent scenery a little beyond my back yard (which seems like a difficult bet to win. But anyways... ) ! LOL !

Re: A most astounding sight !

Thank you so much for you comments! It was quite a spectacular place to visit.

Canada is such a beautiful country, I've never been to the eastern half, but certainly imagine there must be some nice parks and scenery around.

Harry Truman

Harry Truman ran a lodge beside old Spirit Lake and vanished in the eruption of 1980. With the build up in ash I would presume the new lake must be slightly higher in elevation than the old lake.

Re: Harry Truman

Not sure, but the mountains are scarred to the north of the lake. The blast caused a wave that pushed the lake up the mountain, and as it washed back down brought a lot of debris including many of the logs back down into the lake.

Re: Arrangement

Thanks for the compliment LungFruit. Just in the right place at the right time... was actually waiting there a little while as well, for the clouds to part a bit in the morning.
