Awesome!

Get em started young! Love the gym too, very cool, especially the arc'teryx bird!

Re: Awesome!

Thanks - Katie's been climbing since she was two. The are'teryx logo took me all day to paint; but it and some other paintings (not shown) add atmosphere to the wall. We had 3-6 climbers over two nights a week to climb (during the winter).

She is

quite something, climbing that stretch of overhang at that age!

Re: She is

Thanks - she's been in gymnastics for the last year, which has really helped her strength and flexibility. I'm hoping she'll put the ropes up for me on the hard climbs when I get old (er).

Nice!

It looks like you are training your rope gun.

Re: Nice!

She's a natural, but you know how it is; you're never sure they're going to take it up - I'm hoping though.

I am glad

you wrote this article. I fully concurr with you on this sport. It is just climbing and it does bring such great joy to us but stepping on others in this sport and other sports is unacceptable. It is not the great obstacles(rock, ice) that we overcome that define us but how we treat those around in doing so.....Lawrence

Re: I am glad

Couldn't have said it better myself; and exactly what I was trying to get at. Thanks!

Re: Asome climbing wall

Thanks - you're also only seeing about 1/3 of the wall. Sorry for the late reply; being injured has dulled my enthusiam for keeping up to date on Summitpost. I need to be better.

Re: My Neice rocks!

No, but we would love one for Katie - Lisa was going to get one last weekend in Edmonton, but didn't get around to it. Can you send us one?

Re: love what you've done with the place!

Yep, we have people over twice a week climbing (there's no climbing wall in Hinton) - Katie gets to stay up late to climb. She be my rope gun pretty soon. Did you see the pic of our little guy? - he's pretty impressive too (wish I had of started that young). AJ
