Mystic Lake

A northern gem of a lake between the Carbon and Winthrop Glaciers of Mount Rainier. Andesitic Mineral Mountain looms above the lake, with Burroughs Mountain and St. Elmo Pass in the background. A tongue of the Carbon Glacier once pushed a terminal moraine to form this 5,700-foot high lake. Scanned from 35mm photo- taken in late June of 1982.
