Nevado Huarancante

Nevado Huarancante

I'm at 5000m or so, looking at Nevado Huarancante from the northwest ridge of Nevado Chucura. It's only half past four, but there are no more than two hours daylight left. That valley down there looks like a promising place to camp. My map says it's Quebrada Huanta Occo and there is a small stream down there. The key question is how high exactly it starts. The blue line on my map is dotted higher up, and only gets solid around 4800m and below. I'll just have to go down and see. 20 May 2011.
