A view down the NE Buttress from the far end of the big ledge at the amphitheater (alcove) area. (I'm not positive I scanned in the pictures at the correct tilt to capture the steepness of the terrain.) Kyle Flick is leading his partners Mark Dilly and Mark's wife Margaretta up what I thought were the hardest pitches of the climb--especially with the lingering snow. Kirk and I should have stopped here for the night but noooo, we chose to continue. Kyle & Co. were smart. They did stop at the big ledge. This picture was taken looking down from the orange dot shown in this picture. July 5, 2002.
