Voted 2/10 | if you are going to cross whole Fagaras along main ridge , there are two main possibilities : a) from the east - From Brasov by train to Zarnesti (quite often ) , from there on foot or you can convince someone to take you about 10-15 km to Rudarita ( Rudarica ). b) from the west - from Sibiu you can get to Turnu Rosu or Valea Marului ( next stop ). - Turnu Rosu is preferred by most , because its not that hard to find a way , which cannot be said about Valea Marului - my favorite connection is this - from Arad ( to Arad i get from Prague by Panonia train ) at 23:55 to Sibiu cca 6:00 ( you can get some sleep ) , and from Sibiu cca 8:00 to Turnu Rosu 8:30 , so you can get quite far this day , and even at slowest possible pace you can get to the main ridge | |

Hasn't voted | Access 1. from the city of Fagaras, take the road to Braza village.Here starts a marked trail to Urlea Cottage, the starting point for the Fagaras ridge trail. 2. from Sebes Olt starts a marked trail to Suru Peak, on the western part of the ridge. Lodging: Cottage Barcaciu, Cottage Podragu, Cottage Urlea, Cottage Negoiu, Cottage Bilea, shelter Vistea, Caltun shelter (mountain rescuers have an operational base here), Scara shelter Trails 1.
