Okay, who that has climbed up...

Okay, who that has climbed up the Hyas Creek Headwall has seen this old airplane engine? It was located in one of the snowfields above the headwall but beneath the east side of the East Peak. I wonder what the state of this artifact is now (9+ years later). There was no other debris around (or at least exposed). Photo taken August 6, 1994.

NTSB Accident database

Paul,

The NTSB maintains an aviation accident database at the link below. Appears to be down right now, but if you could limit the search to the county, you would likely be able to find the reference to that accident.

Re: NTSB Accident database

Can't seem to find any obvious matches to this accident. The DB goes back to 1962. Here is one that I found.

What's the nearest city?

Re: NTSB Accident database

Morgan, that might very well be the plane. The nearest city is Leavenworth. The departure point was Wenatchee. The destination was Seattle. A beeline between the two would take you almost directly over Mt. Daniel. Of course, there are a lot of mountains out there just like Daniel.

I tried to do my own search earlier but came up with no hits.
