From 4th of July
Arrived at 4th of July TH around 4:30 am. Found a spot in the upper lot. Beautiful wildflowers out now. Trail is well maintained and easy all the way to the Arapaho/Baldy saddle. Stunning views of the Arapahos and the Arapahoe Glacier. Looked to still be some snow on the Arapaho Traverse so we will be back to get that done. Lots of water now that the snow is melting.

Tagged it on the way down from South and North Arapaho. Definitely worth a quick run up for views of the Arapaho peaks and the cirque below!
Very beautiful trail and, for almost all of it, well-maintained. Not as easy as I thought it’d be. Definitely be prepared for almost constant incline. The last quarter mile incline to the summit, just off of the more level trail right below, is by far the hardest section. 30-40% grade after 8 miles of hiking is tough. Plus, this section isn’t marked or even recognizable by foot traffic. Understandable, given such a steep end likely throws off most hikers, but make sure you stick to the trail on the online map.
Otherwise, very beautiful hike. The summit provides fantastic views of the Arapaho peaks, glacier, glacier lake, and valley leading down to the Boulder area. Well-worth the hike, even though it was tough.

Old Baldy - Post Arapahoe Traverse
Not the most work trail - but needed to tag this 13er
Made the trek up this one with Sarah after climbing Quarter to Five Peak in the foggy/snowy morning. Glad the skies opened up for Old Baldy as the views of the Arapahoes from its summit are great!

A nice hill.
After a year of physical therapy, I started easy mountains again, so on this trip I only hiked South Arapaho and Old Baldy. It was awesome to be again in the mountains moreover, everything was flowering in the Indian Peak Wilderness. Almost nobody climbs this hill but its a ranked (unlike South Arapaho) 13er!

When I got off the plane from Indiana and picked up the dog, the weather was still really nice, so I figured I'd try for an easy, orphaned, ranked 13er. "Old Baldy" fit the bill. Car-to-car from 4th of July TH was 11:30am to 4:20pm. Not bad after coming from a few days at sea level and not getting much sleep the night before. The GPS said 8.9 miles and just over 3k gain; not sure I believe it.

All alone
Headed up after the Arapaho traverse. Very quite spot so close to a crowded trail. Loved it!
That's about all I saw on this peak...and maybe a few Ptarmigans. Hit it after coming down off the traverse in full sun only to have the clouds move in during the 45 mins it took me to get over. Fled after thunder rolled past.

9/23/06 - Climbed "Old "Baldy" and unranked Bald Mountain after a heavy, early fall snowstorm. Wasn't able to drive the last couple of miles to the 4th of July TH.
6/24/15 - Slogged over here with Kylie after climbing Skywalker and doing the Arapaho traverse.
