One of the more picturesque...
One of the more picturesque viewpoints in the Cascades is from the shoreline rock outcrop about halfway up the east side of Goat Lake (3,161 ft). Beyond, the north side of Cadet Peak looms. Of course, it's good to be there at the right time of day or in overcast conditions so the sun doesn't wash out the southward view. The true (South) summit of Cadet is not visible. The western promontory of Pk 5987 is at left; while at far right are Ida Pass (6,040+ ft) & Foggy Peak (6,810 ft). Sept. 6, 1994.
