I can't understand why more people haven't discovered the quality and simplicity of these packs. Having hauled loads, using other packs, for everything from a PCT thru hike to day trips with skis, ice gear, or climbing gear I found this pack to be almost perfect for me. I have filled it with 20- 30 pounds of gear depending on the trip. I have hiked with it and climbed with it on a Palisade traverse. It has one big cavity for gear and no side pockets to catch on you or the mountain. The ice axe loops were adequate and compression straps and buckles were top quality. The material is rugged and has stood up to abrasion without showing any signs of undo wear. The 45 liter model has a nice crampon pouch, too. If you have grown tired of involved strap adjustments and sloppy fit packs take a look at this one. The price is also quite competitive. This pack has a couple of nice gear loops and fit well above my harness during climbs.

I own a Mammut Extreme 35 for about 5 years. Very strong, simple and light (mine is 1.1 kg-they make them a little heavier now). They are a little expensive though, but they pay back the money because of the long life. I use it mostly on summer and winter climbing, without the waist belt. Also as a summit pack on bigger mountains. It's very streamlined, thats why a like it. It has nothing more than I need, especially outside, so there is nothing to break or caught somewhere when climbing. Highly recommented.
