Pricey But Nice
They call it the “Mercedes” of canyoneering packs and it comes with a Mercedes price. The pack is manufactured by a French company. The material used for construction, hypalon, is apparently very difficult to sew so the pack does not have pleats, pockets, etc. Of course, for a canyoneering pack, you want to minimize pockets and external baubles that can snag on things out in the canyon. It is certainly roomy enough for all that you need including your rope and dry keg, and the shoulder straps are nice and comfortable. Naturally, you can get a good canyoneering pack for a lot less than the minimum $275 price of this pack, but I think you get full value from this pricey item. I’ve had mine about a year and a half and I really enjoy it.
