Oval Peak as seen from Star...

Oval Peak as seen from Star Peak to the southwest on July 27, 2002. Plainly visible here is the pleasent though blocky South Ridge, the 'should-be-avoided' South Face, and the broad East Ridge. In the foreground is the corner point of the long ridge extending from Courtney Peak to Oval Peak. This point is rocky on the northwest and northeast sides, thus making a completion of the traverse a little more problematic.
