Are there any glaciers in this range outside of Damavand? Also this is another great page in a region in which most might not visit for a long time due to tensions between Iran and the west. Keep the pages coming.
Besides Damavand, most glaciers in The Central Alborz Mountains are found in the Takhte Soleyman Massif (The high peaks around the 4850 m Alam Kooh Peak). Most notable examples are:
Alam Chal Glacier PIC 1, PIC 2
Espilet (Split) Glacier Pic 1
Haft Khan Glacier PIC 1
Khersan Glacier PIC 1
and many others
After Alam Kooh/Takhte Soleyman Massif, the next highest peaks of Central Alborz are those near the 4387 m Kholeno Peak. As you can see in these pictures (PIC 1, PIC 2) all of these valleys seem to be glacially carved. While in early summer they seem to be full of snow, I suppose by late summer little snow remains (Probably like in this picture). I guess that is why they don't call them "glaciers".
There are many other high peaks that I am sure in the distant past had had big glaciers (Check out the panoramic view in this page for example). I am sure many snow fields survive the summer on these northerly slopes.
This was only "Central Alborz". You will find other glaciers in Iran near Mt. Sabalan, Oshtoran Kooh, Zard Kooh and a few other places.
