Lots 'o shadeA nice change from the other Angeles trails I've sampled this summer, soft earth (for the most part) and shade! It's heartening to see nice swathes of pine after so much of this national forest has burned.

too many times......to count. islip, hawkins, hawkins ridge, and even all the way to baden-powell (and back) from this spot. an overnight stop at little jimmy is always nice.

2nd of 4 PeaksStarting at Islip Saddle, tagged Throop first, then Hawkins Middle Hawkins and Islip and done! Icy trails conditions on the lower section, then no need from crampons cuz there was barely any snow!!!!

Great trailReally great trail through the burned out forest. Also hiked over to Middle Hawkins that day. Really liked the view from Hawkins , better then any of the other peaks on this ridge, even Baden-Powell.
